MY WRITING STYLES

I must say I have learnt a lot while blogging:

I dislike writing, I prefer to keep my thoughts to myself;

I dislike expressing myself, the words are difficult to put on paper;

I do not want anyone to see my thoughts and understand what I am feelings;

For me when it is time to express my thoughts in words, they are always to the point and short;

Expressing myself makes me feel vulerable and open;

I prefer to show how I feel by shopping and reading and talking.

QUESTIONS AND CHANGED

My life has changed  and it is a process.  There are days I still remember clearly my career plan; I was supposed to be the Librarian.  I have worked there for 16 years, 16 years.  This is why I am pursuing my degree.

Now my focus has change, my career has change. I has realised that no one has your back, but you.  Your co-workers are just that, your co-worker, you support them as best has you could, but no more.

I have changed my field, I have changed my focus…..I am no longer staying in the Library Field…..My career has change focus.

LESSONS I LEARN

So in point form this are the lessons I learnt in the past two years:

Not everyone will stand up with you, only your family;

Not every skin teeth is a grin;

God will make a way;

There are jealous people out there;

The path you thought you are on, turn out to be not so;

Pray about everything;

You can count your friends on one hand;

You are stronger than you think;

Dreams doesnt always come true;

There are another side to a coin;

Your mother will always be your best friend;

Education is important; and

You must always believe in yourself.

LEARNING ABOUT OUR CARIBBEAN AUTHORS

What I have learnt thus far is that there are many different types of Caribbean Authors all over the world, writing from their history.  There are Anglophone, Francophone and Hispanic Writesr; each in different parts of the Caribbean Islands.  They wrote travelogues, poets, short stories, dramas, histories, sociologys and religions.

This brings to the table is that we have alot of passionate, professional authors who use these medium as sources for carrying on our traditions and culture in an entertaining and historical manners, which I appreciate.  They caters to Academic, Lecturers, Teachers, Researchers, Adult, Young Adult and Children.  These categories of ages can and will now take and carry with them the information to other generations and cultures.

What I would like to see is that these medium taken into the schools, so that students and academics can support this growing avenue.

ANOTHER NALIS VISIT

So we visited that the library again (Heritage Library), got more informations concerning the authors of books, once again it is alot; but important and relevant.

I have to make sometimes to go through the list and tried and summarize their informations.

Love After Love

The time will come
when, with elation
you will greet yourself arriving
at your own door, in your own mirror
and each will smile at the other’s welcome,

and say, sit here. Eat.
You will love again the stranger who was your self.
Give wine. Give bread. Give back your heart
to itself, to the stranger who has loved you

all your life, whom you ignored
for another, who knows you by heart.
Take down the love letters from the bookshelf,

the photographs, the desperate notes,
peel your own image from the mirror.
Sit. Feast on your life.
